Affiliates

Below are some links to groups that we are affiliated with in different ways, bands and artists that support us, campaigns we are involved in and links to things that are of interest and relevant to us and our lifestyle.

foTHC.Archive

foTHC (friends of The Horsedrawn Campaign) have a separate Archived public Facebook group that is also worth a look. nfATs was born from foTHC. There are many networking opportunities to share positive messages of nomadic lifestyle choices and the needs we have to promote campaigns against new legislation affecting Travellers, Nomadism, the human right to roam and the freedom of movement across stolen ground.

Vehicles for Change

Vehicles for Change is a registered non-profit Community Interest Company. Vehicles for Change exists to protect and advance the rights of vehicle dwellers in the Bristol area to live freely and creatively, while connecting with our wider communities to encourage acceptance and understanding of each other. VFC learned that it is impossible for vehicle dwellers to pay Council Tax, due to the system requiring a fixed address. Despite this, many people assume that vehicle dwellers “dodge” this tax, which often fuels tensions in the community. VFC have decided to create this page to allow people who want to (and can afford to) contribute to the city as an alternative to Council Tax.

New Traveller Cultural Archive

New Traveller Cultural Archive proposes to create a live archive of our culture to serve as both a historical record and educational resource. This will be an open access non-profit venture. The physical aspect of the archive will have a permanent home at Rockaway Park, where there will be a set up a static exhibition of pictures, artwork, restored vehicles and caravans. There will also be events, and practical workshops with a view to sharing knowledge and skills.

Moving For Change

We exist to improve the quality of life for nomadic Gypsies and Travellers and the communities in which they live across the UK. Our primary focus is to secure the wellbeing and rights of Gypsies and Travellers living on roadside camps. Our vision is that Gypsy and Traveller people across the UK will be able to continue their traditional way of life, which is nomadic.

Bands and Artists

Music has always been an integral part of the nomadic lifestyle. Playing and singing fireside goes back centuries. These are just some of the bands that support us and that hopefully you will be able to come and see live at one of our benefit gigs in the near future!
